Digital SAT tool Module 1 + Module 2 estimate

SAT Module Score Calculator

Enter your correct answers from both Digital SAT modules to estimate Reading and Writing, Math, and total score ranges. Choose the Module 2 path when you know whether you received the harder or easier route.

Estimate Your Score from Module Results

Add correct answers for each module, select the route you reached, and get a section-by-section estimate. The result is designed for practice-test review and planning, not as an official College Board score conversion.

This calculator uses a transparent educational estimate. The College Board explains that Digital SAT scores are equated and are not produced by one public raw-to-scaled table. Check your official score report for the score used by colleges. Read the official scoring explanation.

What this SAT module score calculator does

Use this when a Bluebook or Digital SAT-style report gives you separate module results and you want a planning estimate before an official score is available.

It adds module results by section
Reading and Writing has 27 questions per module; Math has 22. The tool adds each section separately before estimating the two 200–800 scores.
It keeps route context visible
Harder and easier Module 2 paths are not interchangeable. Selecting a path shows why the same raw count can have a different likely range.
It reports ranges, not false precision
A range is more useful than false precision. Compare midpoints across practice attempts and use the edges for realistic targets.

Fast SAT module score examples

These are rounded planning examples, not guaranteed conversions for every test form.

23/27 + 21/27 RW
44/54
A strong raw result; a harder Module 2 route usually supports a higher estimate than an easier route.
20/22 + 19/22 Math
39/44
A high Math raw result. Review the five misses because small errors matter near the top of the scale.
Both paths unknown
Use Medium
If the report does not name the route, choose Medium / not sure and treat the range as planning context.
0 correct in a module
200 floor
The lower boundary is accepted. A zero is useful for testing the tool and signals that fundamentals need review first.

How to use the SAT adaptive module score calculator

Use the same order as your Digital SAT practice-test report.

1
1. Record Module 1 answers
Count correct answers in Reading and Writing Module 1 and Math Module 1. Enter correct answers, not percentages or misses.
2
2. Record Module 2 answers
Add each Module 2 count. The maxima are 27 for Reading and Writing and 22 for Math, so the section totals are 54 and 44.
3
3. Select the adaptive path
Select a harder or easier route when the report identifies it; otherwise use Medium / not sure. The tool does not infer a route from raw count.

Digital SAT module structure at a glance

Question limits help you transfer a practice report without confusing module and section counts.

Section Module 1 Module 2 Section total
Reading and Writing 27 questions 27 questions 54 questions
Math 22 questions 22 questions 44 questions

The Digital SAT adapts between modules within a section. A harder second module can provide a higher ceiling, but the route alone does not determine your score. See the SAT question-count guide for timing.

How to interpret a module-based estimate

Use these broad bands to choose what to do next; use the calculator when exact module counts are available.

Section raw result Reading and Writing context Math context Best next use
Near maximum Usually 740–800 Usually 740–800 Audit missed questions, timing, and advanced skills.
About 80% correct Often 650–730 Often 650–730 Prioritize recurring error types over random drills.
Route is unknown Wider range is safer Wider range is safer Check the report or keep Medium selected for a conservative estimate.

These are orientation bands. Section scores run 200–800 and total scores 400–1600, but points are not assigned by a fixed number per question.

Important limits of a SAT module score estimate

Use the estimate correctly: it is practice context, not an official result.

No public exact lookup table
College Board explains equating and item-level scoring, but no universal public table turns every module pattern into an exact scaled score. This tool uses a transparent range model.
Adaptive routing matters
Module 2 difficulty can affect the likely ceiling. If the route is unknown, select Medium / not sure instead of guessing from the score.
Official reports win
Use the official College Board report for applications and final decisions. For context, see Digital SAT scoring.

SAT module score calculator FAQ

Common questions about module counts, routes, ranges, and official scores.

How many questions are in each Digital SAT module?

Reading and Writing has 27 questions in Module 1 and 27 in Module 2, for 54 questions in the section. Math has 22 questions in each module, for 44 questions in the section. Enter correct answers, not missed answers, in the tool above.

Does Module 2 difficulty change the SAT score estimate?

It can change the likely range because the Digital SAT is adaptive between modules. A harder Module 2 generally supports a higher scoring ceiling than an easier route. The exact score still depends on test-form equating and the questions answered correctly, so route selection is context rather than a guarantee.

Can I calculate a SAT score from module results exactly?

No public calculator can promise one exact official score from module counts alone. The College Board uses an equating process, and different forms can produce different scaled results from similar raw performance. Treat this page's midpoint as a convenient comparison value and its range as the more useful planning signal.

Why is my official SAT score different from this estimate?

The estimate uses a simplified range model, while the official score uses College Board scoring and equating for a particular test form. Differences can also come from miscounted questions, omitted unscored items in a practice report, or choosing the wrong Module 2 path. Use the official report as the final result.

Can I use this calculator for a PSAT or another exam?

No. The inputs and score scale here are designed for the Digital SAT: 54 Reading and Writing questions, 44 Math questions, and 200–800 section scores. For PSAT scoring, use the PSAT Score Calculator so the different exam structure is not mixed into the estimate.
